Paul Smith’s Circus at London Collections: Men

Amidst the roaring hum and buzz of fashion tastemakers and photographers, we were whisked behind a swathing blue curtain at Savile Row’s Hauser and Wirth gallery for a spectacular presentation of Paul Smith’s latest collection: A Suit To Travel in.

Led by English Olympic medallist Max Whitlock, a troop of performers and acrobats (all dressed in the new suit) performed handstands and backflips on antique tables and chairs evoking gasps and utter amazement from all of us watching (we may be changing some of our New Year’s resolutions thanks to their effortless and nimble prowess).

The circus act was the perfect medium to showcase the crease-resistant, water-repellent qualities of their latest innovation- even Paul himself couldn’t resist joining in on the action.

A suit that vanquishes the burdens of ironing and umbrellas? It’s got our vote.
