Problem Solved.

As far as seasonal, Christmassy candles go – there’s no shortage of spicy, orangey, cinnamony, mulled winey, generally quite celebratory and festive options available.  Fragrance is a great way to get into the festive spirit (or at least numb the pain of wrapping a mountain of awkwardly shaped gifts).

But I face a problem.  I’m bored and jaded by the whole Christmas fragrance thing.

I’ve been seeking out a more sophisticated and less obvious festive scent.  Something that carries the wintery, smokiness of embers, tobacco and damp woods and marries in the celebration and festivities of Christmas; that rich warmth of sugared spices, sticky wine and pine needles. My current favourite – Bamford’s Incense, Rock Rose and Amber – gives the depth and opulence of a church alter lifted and lightened by clean and crisp floral notes of rose dew and heady jasmine.

Sublime! Now for the ribbon and celotape…. SMc
