Scented Seduction

The girls here at pebble&co have been wistfully imagining their ideal scent of seduction during the month of love. Here is an edit of our all time favorite men’s fragrances, try not to swoon…we certainly did!

Charlotte: My dream man would smell of the Gieves & Hawkes No. 1 fragrance. A scent for the sartorially elegant, it evokes quintessential Britishness but for the modern gentleman.  For me, it conjures up cosy weekends in the Highlands, hunkering down in front of a crackling fire. A rare retreat.

A sophisticated blend of green vetiver, rich spices and delicate jasmine. Curls of wood smoke and soft leather add elegant depth. Be ready to be whisked off your feet at a moment’s notice, the Gieves & Hawkes man means business. CC

Tori: My ideal man weaves a spell on me with his fragrance so strong that only a witch doctor could have prescribed his potion. Seductively sweet and spicy with irresistible notes of musk and amber, powdery florals, bright bergamot and fresh rosewood. It’s manly but not as I know him. As the scent warms on the skin it gathers its own heat and I find it takes on new dimensions from its top notes. I breathe deeply and inhale the intoxicating aroma of nutmeg and patchouli and soft jasmine. Ah, LP No9 by Penhaligon’s, scent by the gods to torment me with love sickness!

For a more gentile taste my daytime date wears Gruhme. He is fresh and awakening with petitgrain, gentle in lavender with an edge of celery seed, he has substance and heart with a sturdy Oakwood base – sophisticated in its simplicity he doesn’t leave me hanging on. TS

Sarah: Imagine waking up in a cool dark room and climbing out of bed to fling open the shutters.  A rush of warm sunshine and fresh orange from the citrus grove streams in.  The breeze from the lake carries the last of the summer blossoms and the air is thick with the lively crispness of oversized Italian lemons, waxy and bitter blood orange leaves and just the faintest hint of damp grass.  The fresh early morning by the water and deep amongst the citrus grove, before the cicadas start singing and the sun warms the orchard to a sweet symphony.  This is the scent of my ideal daytime date, Astier de Villatte Eau de Cologne, the greatest interpretation of a fresh twist on a great classic.  Lago di Como, here we come.
