Tubereuse Eau De Parfum, £125 | Le Galion

Tubéreuse by Le Galion is a delicate yet full-bodied scent – a refined and polished floral with rich, creamy tones and an uplifting crisp and green top note that cuts through and lightens the bold blooming accords. This is a head-turning fragrance, light enough for everyday and perfect for cool autumnal days.

Rose Noir, £130 | Byredo

For those dark and wintery moments, I love Byredo’s Rose Noir. A romantic and seductive floral that is opulent and sultry without being flashy or ostentatious; it’s earthy moss and rock rose notes give it a sumptuous grittiness which is steadied and elevated by the freshness of freesia and grapefruit – the ultimate black cashmere overcoat of my fragrance library. (Warning: This is a great fave of the boys and I’m now having to share Rose Noir with my husband.)

One Evening Body Splash, £75 | Bamford

Another shared favourite for autumn in my household is Bamford’s One Evening. Not for the faint-hearted, this generous splash that pebble&co created with Carole Bamford, brings to life a rich blend of vetiver, cedar charcoal and oak moss; a sophisticated statement fragrance that stands out from the crowd.
Leather, price upon request | Perfumer H

For those days when you’re seeking a robust, yet easy wearing scent, Leather by Perfumer H is a satisfying and comforting combination of fresh bergamot and lavender, anchored with iris, birch tar and cedar and a solid dose of worn leather – like an oversized woollen roll-neck you can’t be without for long winter walks and snuggling by the fire, all wrapped up into a fragrant cohort.

Black Orchid Eau de Parfum, £53 | TOM FORD

A bit like your favourite jeans, a scent that never goes out of fashion will be Tom Ford’s Black Orchid –  an intoxicating explosion of jasmine, gardenia and the plumpest blackcurrants, smoothed over and deepened with vetiver, sandalwood, patchouli and just a hint of chocolate.  Good enough to eat…let alone wear.

Monocle Scent One: Hinoki Eau de Toilette, 50ml, £75 | Comme de Garcons

Monocle’s first fragrance Hinoki by Commes des Garcons has a watery freshness of cypress, pine, sharpened by oiled cedar and softened with damp moss and vetiver – the perfect fragrance after exercise or the gym or a relaxed Saturday morning – an easy-wearing staple.
